We take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and according to the legal data protection regulations as well as this privacy policy. In general, our website can be used without entering personal data. Where personal data is collected on our websites (for ex. name, address or e-mail addresses), this is always made on a voluntary basis, where possible. Such data will not be disseminated to third parties without your explicit consent.

Collection of General Information

When you access our website, information of a general nature is collected automatically. This information (server log files) includes, e.g., the type of web browser, the operating system used, the domain name of your Internet service provider and similar information. This exclusively relates to information which does not allow any conclusions to be drawn about your identity. This information is technically necessary to correctly deliver websites content requested by you and is mandatory when using the Internet. Anonymous information of this kind is statistically evaluated by us to optimise our website and the technology on which it is based.

Data Collection During Website Visits

Where our website is merely used for information purposes, we only collect data that is transferred by your browser to our servers (“server log files”). When you access our website, we collect the following data, which is technically necessary for us to display the website to you:

  • website visited
  • date and time of access
  • amount of sent data in bytes
  • source/reference from which you entered the website
  • browser used
  • operating system used
  • IP address used (in anonymised form, if applicable)

Data is processed acc. to Art. 6(1) point (f) GDPR based on our legitimate interest to improve the stability and functionality of our website. The data is not disseminated or used otherwise. However, we reserve the right to subsequently check the server log files in case that there are concrete hints for illegal use.

When you subscribe to the newsletter and use a form on our website, we save your IP address. This exclusively serves the legal burden of proof.

Personal Data

Personal data refers to individual details about personal or material circumstances of an identified or identifiable natural person. This includes information such as your name, address, phone number and date of birth. Information which cannot be directly associated with your real identity, such as favoured websites or the number of users on a given website, is not personal data.

Collection and Processing of Personal Data

When you visit our website, our web servers temporarily save by default the connection data of the requesting computer, our web pages visited by you, the date and duration of the visit, the identification data of the type of browser and operating system used and the website from which you visit our website; this serves to ensure system security. Further personal data, such as your name, address, phone number or e-mail address, is not collected, unless this information is provided by you voluntarily, e.g. in the course of a newsletter subscription or a request for information.

Use and Disclosure of Personal Data

We exclusively use the personal data provided by you to fulfil your wishes and requirements, meaning, as a rule, to answer your queries or to send you our newsletter. We do not pass on, sell or otherwise transfer your personal data to third parties, unless this is necessary to execute the contract or you have given your explicit consent.

Use of Cookies

“Cookies” are small files which enable us to store specific information related to you, the user, on your PC while you visit one of our webpages. Cookies help us to determine the frequency of use and the number of people using our website, as well as to make our content as comfortable and efficient for you as possible. The content of the cookies used by us is limited to an identification number, ensuring that any direct personal reference to the user will not be possible.

It is possible to also use our website without cookies. You can disable the saving of cookies in your browser, restrict it to certain websites or set your browser to display a notification when a cookie is being sent. You can also erase cookies from your PC’s hard drive at any time. Please note, however, that you will have to expect a limited version of the website with a restricted user interface in this case.

Retargeting Technologies

This website uses retargeting technologies. We use these technologies to make the web offering more interesting for you. This technology allows to address Internet users, who have already expressed an interest in our products and services, with corresponding advertisement on the websites of our partners. We are convinced that, as a general rule, the embedding of personalised, interest-based advertising is of more interest to the Internet user than advertising without such personal relation. The embedding of such advertising materials on the websites of our partners is based on cookie technology and an analysis of the previous usage behaviour. This form of advertising is entirely anonymous. No personal data is amalgamated.

Use of Script Libraries (Google Webfonts)

To be able to correctly display our contents on an attractive graphical basis in a variety of web browsers, on this website we use script libraries and font libraries such as Google Webfonts (https://www.google.com/webfonts/). Google Webfonts will be transferred to your browser's cache in order to avoid repeated loading. If your browser does not support Google Webfonts or does not allow access, contents will be displayed in a standard font.

Accessing script libraries or font libraries automatically creates a connection with the operator of the respective library. In such cases, it is theoretically possible that the operators of such libraries could collect data – although it is currently unclear as to whether this will take place and for what purpose.

The privacy policy of the library operator Google is available here: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/.

Embedded YouTube Videos

We embed YouTube videos in some of our websites. The operator of the corresponding plug-ins is YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. If you visit a page that features the YouTube plug-in, a connection is established with YouTube servers. In this process, YouTube is informed about the websites visited by you. If you are logged in to your YouTube account, YouTube can associate your browsing behaviour to you personally. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account beforehand.

If a YouTube video is started, the provider uses cookies to collect information about the user behaviour.

If you have disabled the saving of cookies for the Google Ad programme, you do not have to expect any such cookies when watching YouTube videos either. Nevertheless, YouTube also saves non-personal usage information in other cookies. If you want to prevent this, you need to block the saving of cookies in the browser.

Further information on data protection at “YouTube” can be found in the provider’s privacy policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en-GB&gl=de

Security

We take all necessary technical and organisational security measures to protect your personal data against loss and misuse. Accordingly, your data is stored in a secure operating environment not accessible to the public. In certain cases, your personal data is encrypted during transfer using the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. This means that the communication between your computer and our servers is secured using a recognised encryption method, provided that your browser supports SSL. If you want to contact us by e-mail, please note that the confidentiality of the information transferred cannot be guaranteed. Third parties might be able to intercept e-mails. We therefore recommend that you send us confidential information in an encrypted form.

Amendment to this Privacy Policy

Since this notice is subject to the respective current legal situation, we reserve the right to amend this Privacy Policy in the future accordingly. We recommend that you read these data protection provisions at regular intervals to be kept up to date with the protection of the data gathered by us. By continuing to use this website or by maintaining a business relationship, you give your consent to these data protection provisions and their topicality.

Your Rights

In principle, you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, withdrawal of consent and objection regarding your data stored by us.
